January 25, 2010 -The Supertrax / Steadymate / Byers Motorsports team had a few weeks of practicing since the last race in Michigan and were ready to tear up the track in Lindsay. Mother Nature gave the racers and spectators a break this weekend with nice weather holding the rain till after Sundays races were complete. The CSRA did a great job stock piling the snow and making a good track.
Kyle’s weekend started off on the wrong foot. In his first moto in Sport 600, he had got a great start and set into second place. He came off the sled on the first lap and upon getting back up, he and his sled were hit by another rider sky-ing it out on the yellow over the jump. Kyle was able to jump out of the way but was shaken up and bruised and the sled was in no condition to finish the day.
On Sunday, Kyle was feeling much better and ready to make up for the missed day. Unable to compete on his sled, Kyle jumped on Jamie’s stocker and headed out for his first moto finishing 3rd. In Moto 2, his Woody’s Studs hooked up on the icy start, nailed the holeshot and he lead from start to finish. Qualifying 3rd for the final, he rode the strong 5 lap final mixing up positions finishing 6th.
In the Semi-Pro Stock class on Saturday, Jamie was feeling strong and confident. He and his Polaris got the holeshot in every race on Saturday. Jamie lead the pack in moto 1 for the win and 4th in moto 2. The final was no different qualifying 5th and getting the holeshot in front of the 15 racers. Running 3rd with one lap to go, second place bailed off bringing out the yellow flag. Jamie slowed up for the yellow but the rider behind failed to slow down for the caution and landed into the back of Jamie’s sled throwing Jamie off. He was able to get back up and going to finish up 9th. “It’s very frustrating running that strong in second and having something like that happen on the last lap” said Jamie disappointed after the race.
Jamie put Saturday’s events behind him and concentrated on the Open class. The snow conditions were very different on Sunday making sled set-up difficult. Jamie had a struggled on the starts, finishing 5th and 3rd in the motos. Into the first corner of the Open final, Jamie was mid pack. A crash in the 3rd corner of the first lap slowed him up putting him even further back. He got everything together, picked good lines and charged his way to the front for a Top 5 finish in 5th.
The next stop for the CSRA Circuit is the re-scheduled event in Owen Sound at Victoria Park January 29-30, 2010. Photos Credit Dwayne Young, CM Sports.
