February 2, 2010 – This past weekend the Supertrax / Steadymate / Byers Motorsports Team competed at the Tim Hortons Gerogian Cup in Owen Sound. Spectators filled the grandstands both days despite the snowy and windy conditions on Sunday.

In Sport 600 action, Kyle was nailing the holeshots all weekend getting into the corner first. In Moto 1 Saturday, Kyle was running in second, making an attempt to make a pass for the lead by clearing a Quad jump. In the attempt he came up short and was ejected up and over the handlebars. He was able to get back on the sled quick and crossed the line in 5th. Moto 2, he stayed conservative knowing he needed a good finish to qualify for the final. He placed 2nd in Moto 2 qualifying him 9th for the final. Kyle’s one bad start for the whole weekend was in the final which put him mid pack for an 8th place finish.

Kyle started Sundays Sport 600 class with a 5th place finish. In Moto 2, Kyle got pinched out at the first corner putting him in 4th. He fell back to 6th then worked back up to 3rd at the checkered. For the Final, Kyle lined up on the inside for the start and timed the green flag perfect grabbing the holeshot award. Unfortunately for Kyle he got tagged in the 2nd corner knocking him off the sled and he finished 12th.

Jamie struggled on the starts in the Semi-Pro Stock class coming out of the first corner last in both motos. He finished 3rd in moto 1 after picking off one rider at a time. In moto 2 Jamie was battling it out for 3rd spot with one lap, not wanting to give up the position, he charged hard side-by-side on the front stretch until he ran out of room at the corner and went off the track finishing 5th at the flag. Put to a disadvantage right away, Jamie started in the back row for the final. In corner 2, he stayed tight to the inside passing multiple riders. Passing a couple more riders, Jamie crossed the finish line in 7th.

In the Open class, Jamie got a good starts in Moto 1 & 2 and finished 3rd in both. Qualifying 2nd for the final, Jamie was pumped and ready to go. He didn't have the best start but cut to the inside and go up the the front. He was running close with 2nd place before a lapped rider came back onto the track right in front of him. This slowed Jamie up as he was taking the exact same / fast line that Jamie was running. Unable to pass the rider, he held his position for his 3rd podium finish this year.

Byers Motorsports would also like to announce the joining support of Dayco Drive Belts. Dayco has been in the Snowmobiling industry for many, many years making snowmobile and ATV belts for every application; racing, trails and aggressive riding. “We are very happy to have Dayco join our team. They have a great product and we can’t wait to prove it on the track. It's also nice to have Brian, the Dayco Rep, who comes to all the races with a booth so that we can work hand in hand with him.” stated Jamie.

The team will be running the Dayco XTX belts, getting the holeshots, at the next CSRA event in Barrie, Ontario for the Royal Distributing Cup February 13-14, 2010.
